I have filled out their forms 3x, ( over about 4 years) and in the box that asked about my religion honestly wrote "none".
Def Mentioned I have a cellar full of power tools and know how to use them, and would most likely occasionally bring homemade muffins to the worksite.
Crickets....around here uness you write in "Christian" they do not want you....have heard this from at least 2 other people too.
To volunteer or to try and get a home with them? I just sent an email to volunteer and signed a waiver on arrival
@antman to Volunteer, I have been in my fully-paid-for home almost 50 years...nice yard, nice pool, fully fenced property, lovely neighborhood, that's almost where I am satisfied with it (avid DIY-er!)
@annewimsey1 Wow. That’s really cool. What’s the biggest thing you’ve tackled? So strange they haven’t picked you.
@annewimsey1 Take a trip down here to Orlando and try it out!
@antman moved my bathroom to where the tiny useless dining room was and made a big eat-in kitchen using the old bathroom area, which inolved removing plaster walls, the the old cast iron tub( needed a bigger sledgehammer!) etc.. All electical, flooring, wiring, tongue & groove ceiling, wallpaper, tub surround etcetcetc installed by me.
Did hire some random guys to remove the old cast iron sewer pipes from 1946 in the cellar that weren't where they needed to be for the new configuration though......just eeewwwwww.......
Outdoors among lots of other things dug and installed an above-ground pool but sunken about 3' so it is level with the back sliding doors, pulled up an old sidewalk that actually led to a 4' high drop, (!!!!) used the concrete chunks, surrounded by gravel, to make a new sane walkway to the driveway.....still looking good for 39 years now!!!!
@annewimsey1 Wow. That’s some undertaking
@annewimsey1 Any upcoming plans for the next project?
