My first thoughts about God or no God was when I was 6 or 7.i was in Sunday school and I was told that God is always with you,he always knows what you are feeling and always hears your prayers. It got me thinking about how I wanted to be alone sometimes and I didn't want to share every thought I had. It scared me to think that I couldn't hide from that, I couldn't ever be alone even in my head. I didn't want that to be true. I was 18 or 19 when I finally started realizing it couldn't be true. I had a few near death experiences and never thought to pray for my life. I eventually became 100% sure it was not true. Then a little later in life decided I didn't need a god and was happy there wasn't one. I was still not willing to share those thoughts with anyone until I was almost 30..mom never believed me and and remained sure that I did actually believe in God until the day she died. Now I can easily tell people that I don't believe and never really did..this goes over real well down here in the bible belt.. so when did you know that you had doubt or didn't believe at all. How old or young were you?
