@Barnie2years I did watch part of it but Germany in the 30's was a far cry than we are today. There is no global depression and we have never been humiliated and stripped of our power. The system in Germany was and had been for a long time a top down authoritarian system. No one dared confronted the men above them which included fathers. I lived in the great country some 18 years and learned a lot about the people.

@jackjr Much of the documentary wasn’t specifically dealing with the German Nazi Party. It was showing how strong the American far Right was up until the attack on Pearl Harbor, and even for some time after. And they had the support of the KKK in the south, much the same as now. Rachel Maddow I believe put out a book about that same subject and time in our history last year.

@Barnie2years You are right but I was thinking of a show running concurrently on PBS "The Rise of Nazism."

A lot of the deep right was because of Roosevelt's socialistic changes. Changes we have all come to accept and demand. Same as today and perhaps the killing of three people and the subsequent attack on Iraq and Syria is like the attack on Pearl Harbor. Government 101; when inside issues arise look for external battles to refocus the people's attention. It's what Iran is doing over the demonstrations against the 'morality issues.'

@silverotter11 Of course he is and has. Something too many seem to forget is Biden is not in this alone. He has an administration that understands what needs to be done and how to do it in a viable manner. In time of external conflicts people often gravitate toward their leader. With the orange turd face all his administration does is try not to get his ire. They basically are afraid of him and do as they're told. It's scary to think this demented, insane, narcissistic total fool will have his tiny finger on the 'button.' Maybe the "Lincoln Project' should do a piece on that.
