The Star Trek movies had some outstanding soundtracks. Magnificent music. But Gerry Goldsmith's main theme for the first movie, which was also used for The Next Generation tv series, is a marvel. Crank it loud in your car sometime
When it first came out, I took a Communist Chinese doctor to see the movie hoping the special effects would blow his mind. We were both going to U. Penn studying immunology. Of course he couldn't understand too much never having seen the series (I don't think). I remember they had an enormous poster in a window facing the street that must have been 8 x 12 feet. I wonder where that ended up?
