Another hundred billion dollars that doesn't benefit America (or anyone) in any way shape or form thrown away. Trillions for war with no end in sight is why America is dead last in virtually every category compared to the rest of the developed world. It's so sad, I remember the 60s and 70s when at least many Americans understood that Washington lies endlessly to promote its wars. Now that the MSM is just a mouthpiece for the White House, down the endless debt for endless war we go. It's not going to end well.
Speaker Johnson’s Ignominious Betrayal of Americans on Behalf of the War Party:

Don't be naive.
The world knows full-well that this is only the beginning of Putin's plan to rebuild the "USSR". If we abandon Ukraine (our ally, by the way) there will be war all over the world.
War profits nobody except those who sell arms. Someone once said that a bullet takes away two lives, not just the person who is shot, but also the person who wasted their life working in the factory which made a product that is of no practical use.
How about the practical use of security or hunting. Big oof
@Tejas No, not the same sort of ammunition. And in the no doubt intended metaphor, bullets would stand for bombs , shells tanks and warplanes etc. etc..
And just think. If a tiny minute fraction of one percent of all the money spent on wars, was spent on hunting weapons, then every farmer in the third world, could be given a weapon to protect the crops they need to prevent their communities starving.
@Fernapple you can use pretty much all military cartridges and calibers for hunting. Not including ammo for machinery, but for firearms yes. You can hunt with 5.56 and 308 even 50bmg. Somebody has to make military gear, equipment, explosives and vehicles. And I'm sure those people are happy they have jobs.
@Tejas Yes, that is perhaps true. But I think that is perhaps taking a literal interpretation of the quote, to perhaps, a childishly simplistic degree, since it is obvious that it is the purpose for which they are made and sold that makes all the difference, and I am sure that the creator of the idea was well aware of that.
Although certainly the volume production, will make the perhaps a little cheaper, but most of that volume will still be wasted on useless things.
