This is Australia, but I suspect is an issue in most of our countries. I have several first person accounts of these gated communities/ retirement villages that are very negative. They are clicky and very controlling and exit fees outrageous. I'm sure there are good ones around but if you and/ or your partner are considering this lifestyle for your twilight years, please investigate thoroughly as it is a big investment.
