A man and a woman who do not like the same films will eventually divorce.
A man and a woman who do not like each other will eventually divorce, often, no matter what their religion says
I know a lot of couples that liked the same films that got divorced, my marriage for one.... so!
Relationships fail due to bigger reasons than movie choices:
"The Top 4 Reasons Relationships Fail," by Melanie Greenburg, Ph.D., Psychology Today, March 31, 2015.
Other reasons like abuse take precedent over movies. Actually x-box junkie is a major difference one of my exes and I had-addiction to video games.
That depends on how much they make of it. My husband is not much of a movie person at all so I watch what I want alone, with my son, with friends, and I'm cool with that. We have been married 23 years.
Its more a matter of how important they feel it is to do everything or most things together and how much they can just let each other do their own things yet still come together over household and family matters.
Last thing I remember reading on the top reasons people get divorced is more along the line of disagreeing horribly in money matters, raising the kids, and religion... not movie differences.
No...my (late) husband and I had different tastes in movies. He would watch his horror movies when I wasn't home. I liked romantic comedies, that I watched when he wasn't home. When he watched sit-coms, I read or graded papers. We had 17 good years. So, not necessarily.
@Texasrunner It sounds like he died before they got divorced.
@The_Antichrist That was a bit mean.
@DevraisA1 Whoa. I got set up here. Texasrunner made a comment about you getting a divorce. After I corrected him by pointing out that it was your late husband, he made a comment about feeling like a jackass, then deleted his original comment. I wasn't being mean; I was being factual.
@The_Antichrist Since I made no mention of any divorce, I don't understand your comment. But, I do understand that you were responding to something I didn't see. I possibly over-reacted. Reading it cold, it sounded like a cruel joke. Thank you for clarifying your intention.
Do married men and women EVER like the same movies? If they're watching the same one, likely the husband is humoring her, and wishing he could get back to the football game.
Besides, married couples don't need movies as an excuse to divorce..any reason will do.
