"Snowflakes"

I'm tired of hearing people from both political sides call people from the other side this...

Let's talk about the fucking issues like adults instead of resorting to name calling.... it dilutes the discussions

We're ALL snowflakes. Made of the same stuff, arranged in different patterns. Snowflake has changed meaning from a "delicate, sensitive, ultra-liberal who is hurt and offended by everything (take your pick)", but now it just means "anyone who is offended by what you say (left or right)".. First amendment, People. It's there for a reason. So ALL can communicate w/o fear of retaliation because of our ideas and speech and expression. So, now we have REps calling Libs "snowflakes", and Libs calling Reps "snowflakes".. I have an idea! Next time you encounter a "snowflake", let them melt on your tongue.. Maybe we might start getting along..

I agree whole heartedly. Where’s the unity .......Where is the brotherhood in this country that we claim to have that is supposed to make it so beautiful?

America, The Beautiful Lyrics

Refusal to address issues, calling names and labels and seeking 'safe zones' was the original catalyst for the term. Both sides have them but they really are more plentiful on the Left.

Here are just some of the derogatory labels from the right.

I'm confused on context

I don't want to put words in your mouth, but seems you're trying to say only the right has derogatory terms they use

Agreed. Snowflakes, anything with the word "tard" appended, all of it - this kind of schoolyard taunt adds nothing of value to any discussion. It only polarizes.
It does, however, do one thing. It neatly points out the people who are not worth engaging.

Brother, I think you're preaching to the choir there

2

totally agree with you.

You are absolutely right, however, we share this planet with a similar species, closely related to us, the Internet Troll (trollimus informationus) and, unfortunately, their only real objective is to start fights on the internet (i.e: name-calling without having any kind of logical argument). I would advise to steer clear of these wretched beings. I've tangled with a few in my time..

Good call

You are right. Name calling is so childish. Many people can't talk about the issues because their opinions are based on beliefs not facts. There is no shortage of people who are willfully uninformed.

Couldn't agree more. And people exclaiming "butthurt" when they manage to get a rise out of someone else is another pet peeve of mine.

Your comment makes me feel really "butthurt"..
