Rumor has it that most priests are atheists so go for it! You'd still have to be surrounded by all those believers tho so I'm not sure it's worth it.

My Dad was suppose to go into the priesthood. In a very Catholic family that's what the young male is suppose to do. But he either was kicked out or left the Catholic school and chose atheist. He did enjoy studying the Bible, said it was full of lots of good stories. He was never a believer.

The priests started talking to my Dad about joining the priesthood too (like you said, it was a Catholic family thing to do) but my Nana found out and took it up with the priest that he was her only son and they were to keep their hands off of him. They took his cousin instead - they had several boys. What a racket.
