Isn't mothers day discriminating against non mothers?
no. I havent carried another human in my body to the point it can sustain life and beyond. That said I do not consider myself a nonmother.
.. That said, you are the very definition of a non-mother irrespective of what you consider.
The answer is yes.
If only 1's are allowed to sit next to 0's, then non-1's are discriminated out.
Nah. There's Mother's Day, Father's Day, Siblings Day, Grandparent's Day, Friendship Day, Prayer Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Earth Day, Presidents Day, Adopt a Dog Day and 50 bazillion other Name a Day's to choose from. Gotta fall into at least one category!
If only 1's are allowed to sit next to 0's, then non-1's are discriminated out.
No
If only 1's are allowed to sit next to 0's, then non-1's are discriminated out.
At first I thought "What a silly comment." Then I realized that I'm sure there are women who do want to be mothers but for whatever reason cannot conceive. With that in mind I can see where there could be pain for some people on those days.
Neither the question nor the answer are about pain, but rather fact.
Discrimination in the form of exclusion.
And father's day? Just create a day for non-parents.
I can see that you agree and follow with a question.
To which I say, If only 1's are allowed to sit next to 0's, then non-1's are discriminated out.
@x0lineage0x When I started programming, we were only allowed 0's. There were no 1's.
@pixiedust
Discrimination != negative
Not at all. If you're offended that people would show love and gratitude to the women who bore them and/or raised them, you probably have serious self-esteem issues.
Your birthday actually discriminates out people that were born at any other time and/or that are other people than you, since it is Your birthday.
If only 1's are allowed to sit next to 0's, then non-1's are discriminated out.
You could say that about any special day. It's going to be discriminatory against someone or other. Do I feel discriminated against because of Christmas or Passover? Not particularly. We should leave others to do what they wish. (Assuming it doesn't infringe on others' rights and lives.)
Your first two feelings are right and speak facts, then you make a statement of feelings, which is subjective.
In what way?
By excluding non-mothers.
@sarahjustme
Sorry, this statement is unsubstantial as it has nothing to do with the question.
