What are your weekend plans?
Me? Well, I am volunteering for a children's carnival on Saturday and working on Sunday. Nothing major.
And so my day started with the faucet in my shower breaking. No shower before heading off. My SIL is a handyguy, tells me it is an easy fix, and he is on it. So I am headed out to join his wife and daughter on our outing today. NOTHING else better go wrong for quite a while.
Good for you volunteering! In the past I volunteered at an amusement park that would allow local kids from financially challenged families to ride free all day. I would function as a buddy/big brother...someone to hang out with play games w/ go on the rides w etc...
I work until ~7am Saturday morning and then I'll be going to the h.s. graduation party for a coworker's daughter in the afternoon. After that, I might hang out with my cousin and a buddy to grab something to eat. And then I'll be heading home to pack and plan my route because I'll be leaving Sunday to help out for a week at another lab in western Kansas
Working, as usual on the weekends, but I'm not complaining. I prefer to be off during the week and not be with crowds of other people, especially during holidays...too crazy!
Road trip in the car!!
@Crimson67 driving to Texas via Mo, OK. Going to take Route 66 part of the way. Photo ops. Seeing my Sis and Mom, and a small HS reunion in Dallas.
I've been wanting to find places to volunteer. It would be helpful if I could somehow bring my 6 year old daughter with me and she could help too.
Saturday, May 12th: 10am begin canvassing for a progressive candidate. 6pm sushi dinner with friends. Sunday is mother's day, so I'll probably hang at home and get some work done (no mother anymore). It's next week that super-busy.
Two of my kids are taking me to the Quilt Museum [quiltstudy.org] tomorrow. And were going out to lunch at [theoven-lincoln.com] The third (oldest) has an out as she isn't taking the baby on long trips yet. Baby wasn't supposed to be here yet, but oh well. I love the quilt museum, I come away with many ideas and frustration of lack of time. Someday....
If parts come in tomorrow I will replace the ignition switch in my Honda. I had just finished replacing the water pump (not fun) and after driving just over a mile to eat the car decided not to run without help so the return trip I had to hold the key between start and run (also not fun) with a manual transmission as you have to drive without a hand on the wheel when shifting.
My weekend is exciting. I have all I need here behind closed doors and will do some work on one of my 3 computers, check out social media, watch any movie or TV show that I want to, and get caught up on everything.
My phone might ring and I will talk, but if Charlie comes over and knocks at my door I won't let him in and will say he needs to come back Monday. (I will let women in but don't want crying stories or to loan money.)
Normally up at 6 AM I can now sleep as long as I want to for 2 days. That usually doesn't work however, and I'll get up and make coffee anyway.
Somewhere in the middle of all this I might drink a bottle of Yago Sangria wine. That's for the TV and Netflix time.
I have an exciting weekend ahead.
I'm decorating the hallway. Painting the ceiling, papering the walls and getting ready for new skirting boards and floor.
I can't wait......
No plans for me. I might head downtown today to pick up my juicer, if it's fixed by now.
But here in Songkhla, Thailand, it's Saturday morning, and there's a huge outdoor market a couple of km from here.
