The ability to acknowledge what is a mistake requires a lot of knowledge. Most people deny their mistakes is because their knowledge is not there yet.
Sometimes this is true, especially in fields of scientific discovery.
How is this only sometimes?
No, most people don't acknowledge their mistakes because their fragile egos don't permit them to, their incurious nature prevents them from being open to information that might contradict them, and they have no real commitment to understanding actual reality.
In their ignorance and very deluded state of mind, they do not even know what kind of liar, deceitful, dishonest they are when they deny their mistakes and blame others for it.
I am a mistake, my Dad said so !!
Who does not make mistakes in life. If you are a mistake to your Dad, then that is his mistake, not your.
@VAL3941 Same here -- Mommy and Daddy's little accident. Trailed my 3 older brothers by 10 years. The oldest of them was 20 years my senior. My parents were 40. Common sense says it was an "oh shit" moment for my Dad. I did not feel less loved over it though, just more grateful for their sacrifices.
