What would you do if you suddenly and unexpectedly learned that you were someone's genetic clone? What if that person had been generally revered? What if that person had been generally reviled? What if that person had been a generally unknown teenager who died in a car crash? Would you ever lie awake thinking about this sort of thing?
Too hypothetical, sorry. ?
Indeed. The questions were inspired by a sci-fi book I'm reading.
@pixiedust I’ll think some thinks about it though.
It would make very little difference, although an uncanny resemblance to Henry Rollins in my twenties did get me laid.
I’m sure I would.
Do you stare at the ceiling when you're lying awake thinking about unusual scenarios? I sometimes do.
@pixiedust Sometimes, but normally when my head hits the pillow I am out. Dreams can come up with all sorts of demented scenarios.
There is a documentary coming out about triplets separated at birth. "Three Identical Strangers"
This happened to me in my 20s. I went out with a guy for a few months, then he broke it off with me. A few months later I found out he was dating a girl that looked just like me. The two of us were mistaken for each other frequently. Funny story ... the girl & I later became friends. She is now married to another guy (not the ex).
That could be confusing for all concerned. At least he was consistent in his "type"
Then I would know whether I am the result of nature or nurture. Or both.
Very interesting idea.
