Aristotle - was a Greek philosopher, making contributions to logic, metaphysics, mathematics, physics, biology, botany, ethics, politics, agriculture, and medicine.
Aristotle was the first to classify areas of human knowledge into distinct disciplines such as mathematics, biology, and ethics. Some of these classifications are still used today.
As the father of the field of logic, he was the first to develop a formalized system for reasoning. Aristotle radically transformed most, if not all, areas of knowledge he touched. It is no wonder that Aquinas referred to him simply as "The Philosopher."
Aristotle believed the universe has existed forever. Something eternal is more perfect than something created. Conversely, those who believed the universe had a beginning, used it as an argument for the existence of God.
Many scientists now agree that the universe has always existed.
I love the concept of always and endless space. And that anywhere in the Universe we are all experiencing the same "now"
Aristotle was my hero in high school.
Why him?
@gater I found his theories of art fascinating.
