Here is Maa probably thinking "Why am I getting married?" Anyway, we had a lot of heart to hearts in the last couple of months we spent together. I learned a lot from her in the final months that we spent. Specially the fact that someone as nice as her was left alone by all the people that she sacrificed for and even though it deeply wounded her but she never used to let it come to her face when she used to meet those people. She would always smile, crack jokes, make the best darn food and still try her best to be there for everyone. She told me that people take kindness for stupidity and for granted but she always knew who was on her side and who wasn't. She knew who truly loved her and who had been always there for her. She knew the truth about her siblings and their intentions and the rest I cannot probably even mention. Maa never thought she is great or never praised herself for anything. A simple BA pass girl from a small town of Punjab who spent her life pleasing her family and by putting others before herself. This woman was the literal meaning of love and I haven't seen another person like that in my entire life. I can write books about her and her struggles but I made a promise to her that I would keep her greatest deeds to herself. She not only told me the truth about everyone but also prepared me by letting me know that after her I will be completely alone. It is a bit poetic how she became an oracle for me in her final days. I miss my best friend, I miss taking her out every other day, I miss kissing her cheeks and annoying her so she could have that smile on her face. She was everything and she will be my everything as long as I am alive. There is no one like her and there won't be anyone like her. Happy Mother's day wayward soul may you always rest in peace. Happy Mother's day to all the mothers out here. You guys are the best human beings in the whole wide world.
