Which Star Trek series is your favorite?
The next generation was by far the best to me. So much of the stuff is now stupid to me. I could never understand why they constantly disobeyed the "prime directive". Unfortunately, this is a reflection of our short-sighted human weakness.
@redeemed I totally agree with the "Prime Directive". Our inability to deal with our cognitive dissonance and look for feel good and short-sighted reactions have gotten us to where we are today. What is the expression: the road to hell is paved with good intentions? I believe that.
TNG, but it's been a while since I've indulged in television.
I have to go with the original series. That was the ground breaker. Captain Kirk, what a brave leader of the Enterprise. Also, Mr Spock, awesome logic and intelligence for the 2nd in command. And Bones and Scotty and Ohura and all the rest. The cast worked well with all of those incredible story lines!!
Original brings back happy memories but I like the young Captain Kirk et al, too.
I mostly like them all. They all had good and bad points. Now, what I really like are the books!
That has changed over the years. It used to be The Picard Show, then Voyager. Now it's Enterprise.
That's a tough one, they all have their strong points. Even the original is better now that they updated all the view screen scenes. I give TNG a slight edge and then DS9
I enjoyed all of the incarnations of Star Trek. If I have to narrow it down I would say the original series because it took a lot of chances for its day. With that being said DS9 had one very memorable episode called "In the pale moonlight" which if you haven't seen it is probably the best social commentary Science Fiction episode of that series. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.
I remember the original series being on CBC on weekends when I was a kid... But since I watched TNG while it actually ran, I think that has to rank as my top... Plus... when I was a kid, it was Star wars VS Star Trek, and I didn't give TOS the respect it deserved at the time TBH.
