When was the last time the religion of choice was held accountable for the death of some anti-science/ anti-vaxer's kid due to lack of medical care? Answer: Never. The court system tries and convicts the parents.
Same principle applies here. As far as I can tell, the individuals who participate in this fucked up cult are there of their own free will, which is why this guy has probably been allowed to carry on with his little clown show.
If you want to stop giving power to douche bags like this, then figure out what and who fuels their agenda. Without willing participants, this guy is likely just another obscure loser still living in his mom's basement at the age of 52.
At some point, adults need to be held responsible for making adult decisions. And that includes being held responsible for joining fucked up polygamy cults.
The only real victims here are the kids, who have no power of self choice and are not cognitively developed enough to say no.
Looks a lot like Mormons, Amish and other groups considered cults?
Weak women to demean themselves.
@VictoriaNotes Good for her. I did not know about the children. That was terrible
Canada is about to sentence two polygamists in a religious cult, one with 2 dozen wives and one with half a dozen. Religious freedom laws keep them from being subject to charges of abuse. It's the first time that criminal charges for polygamy have been pursued in over a century in Canada.
