I carry a gun, so I am not anti. But, isn't it hypocritical that the far right wants guns in everyone's hands, in the malls, parks, schools, and all public spaces, but most churches and all NRA meetings, and Republican town hall meetings, and the Republican Party's national convention, BAN their entry? Are they afraid guns present a danger?
In the few churches I’ve been to guns were welcome. The local Christain school welcomes concealed carry holders with guns and Ive never heard of any mass shootings in one of them. How many people are going to have to be killed before the liberals realize that unsecured no gun zones only make things more dangerous as they create soft targets. Schools that have armed qualified teachers are safer and have not had any problems.
I don’t think it is the gun by itself they are afraid of, but rather the power the gun gives the carrier. They are afraid of something more powerful than themselves, like a group of citizens with the power to make real changes. The Republicans have been hijacked by the far right, and the leadership at the NRA went off the deep end now that they picked Ollie North as their president! He’s a convicted felon, so can he even legally own a gun?
I have carried for 58 years been shooting 70 years and have taught the whole time. Believe me there are many people who should never even hold a gun yet own one. The NRA is ridiculas and I do not know what their problem is!
Good point.
It's like carrying a sidearm into a bar. Your examples are where the chances of emotions getting out of control would, in my mind, require checking your gun at the door.
