Do you have immediate family members that you do not love?
My sister. She has misrepresented herself her entire life then attacks other people because they 'aren't honest'. She truly believes that she is better than most people and is rigid and unforgiving. I tried to maintain a relationship, but when she wrote me a letter while I was waiting biopsy results and told me she disliked me but we should act 'like sisters' that was the end. I don't need toxic people in my life even if they happen to share genes.
Can honestly say I never loved either of my parents. I was bought up in a house where the word was never uttered and very little emotion or warmth was ever expressed. My mum died a few years back and my reaction has been little more than 'meh, that's a shame'.
...And it is a shame. You raise a kid, you spend almost fifty years pouring your heart into them the only way you know how, yet because you had no idea how to express love the kid doesn't even miss you when you're gone. Hmm...
Not to say I've turned out to be a complete psychopath — I love my wife and child dearly, genuinely and wonderfully.
When I finally figured out my MIL hated me for 20+ years I couldn't help but fall into the feeling being mutual.(After everything I sucked up & put up with!!! ) Yet she still wants contact with my daughter, who also hates her. (Sooo sorry I will NOT "horsewhip" my kid to see you now that I KNOW better! GFYB! )
All her kid's spouses are nothing more than "appliances/objects" to her...
Other than that can't say I hate any relatives, just don't trust some of them...on late dh's side.
