One of our biggest problems is we always have to put a title on everything we encounter! Science, Tribal, Demonology, Alien, Biblical, Futuristic, Etc. Instead of just accepting it as something that we have not encountered before, and that may need to be evaluated as to where it fits into our personnel life. I do everything I can to do this with an open mind! I have seen things that I cannot explain and would never try. As to weather they fit into some continent category is for someone else to determine. I just know that meany things that I have been privileged to experience are the very things that make me who I am!
Scientists live for the thrill of discovery, not for the stubborn arrogance of always believing you are right no matter what. If a scientific theory becomes debunked through scientific testing, it can actually be quite exciting as it opens up all kinds of new possibilities and career paths.
Science is a method based on facts. If all the science books were lost/destroyed facts would remain which if observed by the scientific method would rediscover what we know today.
If the same happened with all the religious books, being a belief system, then all the stories would be lost and would never be returned to it's original form. Such is what happens with fiction.
It is not a way of thinking, rather it is the laws of physics and mommy nature. If we said speaking gravity is a way of thinking it would be nuts. Science is real whether anyone believes it or not. Science never lies as it does not assert, Just the facts.
It actually is a way of thinking. The scientific method explains how to determine what has merit and what doesn't.
@bobhoff59 But now you consider following scientific model is a way of thinking, It is way to achieve accurate thinking. We are always thinking but to contemplate or hypothesize is another thing entirely. Statistics requires using statistical mathematics but the thinking comes into play on the analysis part.
