I have noticed that alot of members here mock religion as thou it had personally harmed them in some kinda way. While we are all entitled to our opinions regarding the subject isn't the reason we are on this site because we proclaim to be intelligent freethinkers or intellectuals. I am not defending religion because I to am agnostic. But I think we can all see that minus the supernatural aspects and personal deity it is just as Confucianism is an age old social value system.

Personally harmed by religion is exactly what happened to many people I know. Not always, or even often, physically or sexually harmed, but suffering great emotional harm from poisonous ideas and horrific manipulation inflicted from a very early age. That most of them emerged sane can surprise me, and not all of them did.

Tho I never managed to take to religion, I have only happy memories of going to church and religious people. But I understand that's not the common experience among formerly Xtian atheists and really feel some slack can be cut, esp. on an agnostic/atheist site.

Humour is sometimes the best way to express yourself.

So many here mock most of what's out there and i find that not a respectable way of going about things. so i get it. seems they can't get words out unless they are denigrating something... you, your way of life, your opinion and so many other things. i think it's a way of life for most anymore. they don't know how to do it any other way...

"As thou (sic) it had personally harmed them in some kinda way"? Do you know the history of religion at all???
