Well its 2 in the morning. My shoulder was hurting and woke me up. im grateful though because it's not my back. Now isn't that funny. I think it is.... I took medicine at 12 and went to bed... I'm not taking anymore. My dad use to complain about his shoulder and I was so pissed off at him that I didnt care. I wonder if its karma? That's funny...
I hate back/neck/shoulder pain. They’re constants, though...
I sustained a traumatic back injury a few years ago, wound up walking with a cane for 6 months. Chiropractic helped a bit, GP and Surgeon said nothing could be done but referred me to a Physiotherapist and that was my path to recovery. A year later I am off the pills and operating at 80% and still improving. The treatments have me to the point where it is mostly in my hands now, I need to work on certain muscle groups now to strengthen them and take the pressure off the nerve damaged areas, I can even feel my left leg now which had been numb since the accident.
Physio isn't covered here unless you are a senior citizen but it was worth the money. Even if you just get the initial exam and some exercises and stretches it would help you. I picked up an Obusform deep massager at a yard sale for $17, brand new in the box and it was a good investment for those times when I have a flare up and my back or shoulder locks up.
Hope some of these suggestions help, the pills will rot your guts out if you take them long enough.
Thank you...
@BucketlistBob I feel your pain and it ain't fun. That thumper massager was the best $17 I ever spent, physio costs me $60/hr so a dollar a minute, money well spent.
ever get physical therapy?
It cost so much ... I'm so tight... I squeak.
@BucketlistBob you are worth it Bobster
@btroje aww shucks... thank you.
Definitely karma working there. Try to move around as much as possible that should help.
Yikes... karma?
Always sad to hear of 'friends' in pain. It sounds as if you have a number of physical issues.Are you getting the help you need? My husband had shoulder pain from a torn tendon for a long time but found physiotherapy helped eventually. I agree - the pain in different bits tends to be relative and one often helps distract us from another. My pain meds give up after 2 hours, too, and the doctor said i should ask her for something stronger when that happens, but I hesitate to do that. I feel I can hang on a bit longer. Are you better during the day-time? Nights can be hard.
Its nuerapothy... my doctor only gives out the muscle relaxer stuff.
@BucketlistBob Have you found a particular diet helps? I understand some people find a low-saturated fat diet helps. It sounds nasty, though, and that little can be done to help.
@CeliaVL. Thank you..... I'm somewhat of a cook... that's probably my problem...lol.
@BucketlistBob In my experience, men who cook are often keen on cook-outs and barbecues, which means meat in generous quantities, so not much hope for a low saturated fat diet there!
@CeliaVL. Oh my... thats me!
The diet that I see many people with chronic pain eating is either the Paleo diet or some other version of gluten-free/dairy-free/-free/no processed crap.
Shoulders can be a pain,
bad pun.
Any known issues with it?
I have torn the muscles around mine a few months back,
sleeping was ok at first,
not in recent weeks,
hopefully yours was only a temporary issue.
I think I hurt it climbing a 40 foot ladder a bunch of times.
@BucketlistBob that'll do it, mine was from digging out some stumps, swinging a pick, it hit something that didn't give.
