After the flood was gone and Noah's ark anchored somewhere, all the animals we released to live their lives. We all know that Ark has rescued only a pair of each kind, a lion, and lioness, a bull and a cow, a male and female goat, deer, sheep, etc etc.
The question is what did the predators had to eat so they can survive, and how the rest of the vegetarian animals survived the predators?
Ask your friends who believe in the story, let's see if they have a logical answer!

Hmm.. not thought that one through. Apparently, neither have the fundies.

I tried to use logic in this argument but this is pointless. They JUST BELEIVE. You can't prove them anything. My favourite is -how two pengiuns walked from Antarctica to Middle East?

... and back again ...

Logic state that they would be able to eat the rotting corpses of the creatures drowned in the flood. I would be more concerned with what the herbivores would eat since inundation of salt water would have killed all plant life and the seeds of the plant would take month or even years to produce enough forage to support ven two of each kind present.

Exactly the problem which ensued 65 million years ago after the Earth was struck by a massive meteorite impact what is today the Gulf of Mexico, which threw up so much material into the upper atmosphere that it triggered the equivalent of a nuclear winter which lasted for at least a year killing a substantial proportion of the vegetation on the planet, which in turn led to the death of the herbivores, which allowed the carnivores to scavenge for a time but ultimately led to their Demise as well, causing the mass Extinction of the dinosaurs and ending the Cretaceous period.

Most people think it was the meteorite which killed them because that’s how media depicts it. They went away overnight. Even science based people are nutty.

Just tell them the story was as a result of plagarism, and then tell them the story of the epic of gilgamesh. This predates noah's ark by many years with so many of the facts so similar and so unbelievable to the thinking person

But but but... they were by SEVENS!

Genesis 7:2 - "You shall take with you of every clean animal by SEVENS (emphasis mine), a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female; 3. also of the birds of the sky, by SEVENS, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.…

See? PERFECTLY believable. Checkmate! (rolls eyes)

Heh-heh, they ate all the herbivores we don't have names for any more ... because no-one remembers the ones without descendants. Of course, this means there must have been even more room on the Ark for those species that the predators ate up ...

that's the ticket

its a fable

God waved his invisible magic wand and put Earth back to normal again. Lol. I bet that's more logical than a theists answer.

3

My only issue is you use the term... "we all know that...."

2

But if it's in the bible it must be true because the bible says the bible is true ... how can anyone argue with that logic / fact??? (satire ... but believed by too many)

Evangelicals and Fundies play fast and loose with whether it was a local or global flood.

GLOBAL
Questions of where all the water came from and where it went to and why it didn't lift the Antarctic Ice Cap and why the mummies in Chile stayed dry and how in China they made a particular style of beaker decoration and immediately after The Flood went back and resumed the same style of both beaker and decoration, how the Egyptians continued using the same hieroglyphics, they developed a bit from 3,200 BC to 400 AD didn't have a sudden transformation at the time of The Flood (2,355 BC give or take a just a few years), the human population on Earth was rising on a very slow curve being about the same before the Flood as after.

Both Local and Global don't work so if you can try to get someone to explain both then they've had it.

I’d once went round with an Australian Fundie who eventually described there having been a ‘halo of water’ orbiting earth that had come crashing down to create ‘the flood.’ There’s apparently no end to their mad desire to make something of nothing...

Where did the water go after The Flood? I've heard Fundies claim it is still here, the oceans were created and the water went into them, but there's a really serious flaw in that assertion

it's in the really really tiny print that most people don't get in their versions of the bible: shrink ray. And lots of snacks. Lots and lots of snacks. Isn't it obvious. Geez.

As someone who dabbles in taxonomy, I'd love to see the list of animals. For example, there are around 200,000 species of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths). I could go on. I wonder where they were kept. Also, I'd like to see Noah's definition of a species 😉 Total BS.

And what about all the deadly viruses that he would have to bring aboard? That'll chuckle a spanner in his plan. Lol

1

Believe me, they'll have an answer, and it will be as hard to swallow as the rest of the tale.

1

All the bacteria and viruses, were they on the boat too?

hitchhikers on the backs of the animals and the ability to rapidly mutate. might be the most believable part of the fable

That's been s question of mine sense I was a kid. It's like the rest of the bible... it's stories past down. Word of mouth like the masons.

Actually, the Bible says Noah collected a pair of non-kosher animals and 7 pair of kosher animals. But I want to know how the kangaroos got to the ME from Australia and then got home again. Then again,I want to know why "God' sat in the dark for a billion trillion centuries, then created the duckbill platypus...

WHAT?!?!? There were no dinosaurs? I'm crushed.

They can't give you a logical answer because their beliefs aren't based on logic.

That's a very good question! Rumination of the moment... I guess we don't have dinosaurs or woolly mammoths today cuz they didn't make it on to the Ark? Brontosaurus would never have fit (rofl).

same with those silly unicorns. Playing in the rain and all...

Where did the water go after The Flood?

problem is the Genesis 8 gives the answer:

8 God remembered Noah, all those alive, and all the animals with him in the ark. God sent a wind over the earth so that the waters receded. 2 The springs of the deep sea and the skies[a] closed up. The skies held back the rain.

After stopping the water from arriving then a wind sped up the evaporation, that's what happened to the flood waters, they just plain dried out! God said so.

What about the bullfrogs? What about the amphibians that need both land and water to live? Did Noah dunk 'em off the side of the ark in a basket every now and then?

Genesis Chapter 6 says Noah was told to take two of every animal. Chapter 7 was a little different: A single pair of every creature plus 7 pairs of "clean" animals, that is, animals humans were permitted to eat. So what did all those other predators eat? I wonder(I don't ACTUALLY wonder) how millions of pairs of animals fit in that wooden boat. I also wonder how the Lemurs of Madagascar found their way to Noah, or the Tasmanian devils, kangaroos, polar bears, or any of the countless other animals from remote continents or that couldn't handle the climate there. But Hey! If Santa can get to all the children in one night and without being shot for breaking and entering, than I'm sure Gawd could make it work for Noah. Abaracadabara--FAITH!

the ark myth is just that ... and ancient myth / legend that has been repeated for so long it got believers ... like the flat earth story ... or Vikings believed that thunder is caused by Thor beating on his shield. People too stupid / uneducated to be sceptical believe what ever sounds good; or what ever they are told to believe; as with kids in church.
