I received a friendship request on Facebook. He was attractive and seemed to be an adventurer. He had a sense of humour, and we had a good conversation via chat/pm. I was getting interested. Then I looked at his Facebook page. Ugh, it was covered with messages about God. I mean he really went overboard. It was all he seemed to post.
It doesn't matter how attracted a person can be to another, if two people have different, strong belief systems, it isn't going to work. What do you think?
For me, I really respect your views and where you stand. but i think it possible it can work. because a health relationship depends on communication, understanding and honesty.
I cannot think of a circumstance in which you two would be compatible. He’ll want to pray at dinner, Pray for the President, and lay hands on the sick. You may conceal your non-beliefs but you will find it exceedingly difficult to accompany him to church, raise hands, & make a joyous noise unto the Lord. Here’s something else to consider, if you mentioned atheism or agnostic anywhere in your profile, he might view you as a project to win your soul for Christ. Trust your instincts on this.
I have had that happen with Trump supporters - Nice local gal seems sane and likable and then I see build that wall and hit the block button lol
Different strokes for different folks. What works for one person may not for another. Relationships are tough. No wonder there are so many books on the subject. Remember the big deal over Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus? Pop psychologist John Gray milked that line, made a bloody fortune, and did little to bring the sexes closer. There will be couples who can "co-exist" with major differences ... I doubt that I could, and wouldn't recommend it. Especially when it revolves around religious and political differences.
If you found him attractive and interesting, why not give him a chance?
You know that his God does not exist, so, why let a non-entity be a wedge?
No one is perfect. It is likely that if you were to meet, the last thing you will be interested in is religion, or lack of it.
Just sayin'.
Oh religious. differences arent worth it.run like hell
You actually say "it isnt going to work". - a statement . You have already decided and now you're asking lots of people that will agree with you if . . They agree with you. don't you ask a christian forum what they think for a bit of balance. . Ok I'll shut up now. (you did the right thing. you know it. End of)
