Looks like the summit with Kim Jon Un is off. I guess Trump will have to return the Nobel Peace Prize he gave himself.......
While I listen / watch US 'World' News, I prefer the BBC -- more world information. Back when the possibility 1st came up, an interview on the BBC said quite plainly that N. Korea wanted all US Military off the Korean peninsula and Japan in exchange for reducing their nuclear program and that the US wanted no nuclear anything in N. Korea in exchange for trade concessions. It was pretty easy to say then that it wasn't going to happen. Not sure why Mr Trump followed through this far except to say "I'm doing it.".
That's sounds realistic, whenever you go into negotiations you always go in high as to not leave anything on the table. For any resolution on this to happen would require a little compromise on both parties. This my way or the highway stance the U.S. takes in these things will probably never work, same with Iran. The sad thing here is a possible missed opportunity to at least start talking. It would be dumb to think this could be solved overnight. N.K. views the U.S. as the aggressor here after decades of harmful sanctions plus they still remember that little incident called the Korean War where the U.S. invaded and caused the deaths of nearly a million Koreans.
Did you read his letter:
"If you change your mind having to do with this most important summit, please do not hesitate to call me or write,” the president said"
Makes me think that it was Kim Jong Un who called off the meeting & not Trump
I did and it read like it was written by a Jr. High Schooler .....
