It was suggested to me by someone on this site to read Nietzsche. Instead I read Victor Serge: A Critical Essay on Nietzsche. I would recommend this instead. Will probably save you a lot of time. Any Ayn Rand fans out there?
There no intelligent and moral Ayn Rand fans I have read all of her major works. Her twisted ideology is laid bare in her books: (1)greed is good, (2) all governments are evil, (3) I should have the freedom to what I want, regardless of the consequences.
Yeah, not really a Rand fan either.
Or Nietzsche.
"Philosophers" kind of annoy me.
I really don't recognize their "authority" to speak about much of anything.
They're no better/worse than most other people.
I maintain my own philosophies. I don't need theirs.
@jellyfish You are wrong. Your do not know Rand's personal history. She was an angry, bitter women from a family of privilege and extreme wealth in czarist Russia. When the Bolsheviks took over in Russia, they took away all of her family's wealth and privilege. As a result, she moved to condemn all forms of government, not just the communists. In fact, she became an anarchist -- denouncing all forms of government. All she espoused was the right to amass power, privilege, and wealth by any means -- and to lounge in the lap of luxury from such wealth and privilege. Wise up, young man.
