I’m really turned off by all the jingoistic patriotism BS tied to sports. I usually feel too uncomfortable to bring it up, but patriotism is often just nationalism in disguise. As a patriot, I’m proud to live in a country that gives its citizens the right to protest by taking a knee during the national anthem, or burning a flag if they’re pissed off enough without fear of imprisonment. Making rules about standing during a song is oppression, not patriotism.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.The NFL's stance is yet another example of how to divide this country even further. AS if that is even possible at this point! I have always been turned off by the patriotism that is attached to sports. It occurs all over the world.
