Addiction is a disease. Whatever the addicts are addicted to is irrelevant. It should be treated on the physical or mental level without judgment. Government assistance when needed should available to anyone who puts the money into the system as with any disability.

@BearMcClure Without taxes any semblance of government we have would fail. Our infrastructure would fail worse than it ever has. Schools would no longer be equipped to function and our children would grow to be uninformed and uneducated. They would grow up believing that gods put people of wealth on this planet to control the poor. Chaos would ensue. Another government would step in and our military would be to ill-equipped to handle any incursion. Before Reagan our taxes worked for the people. Yes, people grumped about taxes, but that is just the price to pay for military protection, education, infrastructure, government employee salaries, ect.

I'm not judging others...I have my own struggles like everyone else. However, I will give you some stones so you can throw them in your glass house.

If you are actually interested in a discussion or finding out what people believe on the topic, maybe take an objective neutral stance with your polls. Otherwise the post ends up just being wasted space on the boards.
