What has agnostic.com provided for you?
I recently joined the community on agnostic.com and I’m ready to see what all it has to offer. I would love to hear your story. Did you make new online friends, met in person, or even found love? I would love to listen to your feedback as I become more acquainted with members on agnostic.com.
Hi! I'm also new on this site and really like your question. I too would like to hear from the online community here about any success stories.
My first post here. I've noticed several members in my area, (southern OR). I'm looking forward to meeting them in person Once I get to level 2 I'll invite them to our local Humanist, Free Thinker group. We are active and involved have parties and activities and tend to be like minded on most things but are not afraid to respectfully disagree if we have a different opinion. I would recommend to all that they check the local "Meetup" groups for Humanist or Free Thought. Virtual has it's place but IMO should be a part of real world interaction with like minded people.
All I got was comments, posts, quick peeps at my profile-but no direct message from anyone indicating a friendship!??
Give it time. Get to know people gradually and let them get to know you through your conversation. Even if you don't find exactly what you are looking for, new friends are good, too.
It provides a forum to speak and be heard.
To realise you are not alone in your lack of belief, yet highly supported for many of your values.
You will make friends that you may never meet or shake hands with or hug...but they will open a window to you and share their fears..their joy..their pain..their passion..their life.
It is escapism for some..for others a search for truth and exploration and everyday learning.
It can be hilariously funny and sometimes deeply sad and moving, but you will meet and listen to people from people from all backgrounds, political persuasions, sexual orientations, nationalities, and wildly eclectic personalities.
The important thing is you will learn a thing or two, and have a whole lot of fun doing It!
