Just a question to the Star Wars fans out there.

What is the propulsion system for the Death Star? I mean, it goes to the Alderaan system and destroys the planet - but how did it get there? Does it have warp capability?

Thoughts are invited and appreciated.

This is where I and the true sci-fi geeks differ. I don't really care about stuff like this. In real life, I don't care how cars get from place to place. In that I don't require my stories to explain fuel combustion engines. Or even biodiesel. I think that's a thing. I mean, if something that was OBVIOUSLY wrong or impossible (not beyond my comprehension, but within my comprehension and not possible) I would not like it, but in general, I don't need to know details like this.

TL;DR: No clue. 😀

It was just a question - but when I look at the Death Star, I don't see propulsion!

That's okay - Peter Cushing was Grand Moff Tarkin. He was a bad mother.

Porgs. When that runs out, Ewoks.

I believe, and I could be wrong here, but I believe it rolls really fast. ?

I'll pay that one!

Probably the same way anything else got from one planet to another--hyperdrive. I get the feeling mass isn't much of an issue as hyperspace has its own physics.

A good point. I mean, the Death Star is not meant to hold a static position. And those big arsed Star Destroyers clearly have warp capacity.

I was wondering that same thing last night, while watching "A New Hope".
I guessed it was probably thrusters embedded in the circumference.
