Oh dear. The vile NRA pushing their selfish agenda again.
To them, freedom to own a gun takes priority over other human being's lives.
Why can't a lunatic gun man target an NRA rally instead? Let them be on the receiving end.
I'm so glad guns are banned in my country.
You might be interested to know that it is legal to carry a firearm at the NRA convention (unless there is a politician with Secret Service protection). With all those guns walking around, there's never been a shooting at an NRA convention. In fact, it's probably the safest place you could be.
Unless there was a Stephen Paddock type gunman perched in an unknown vantage point. They could all fire back but they would be wasting their time.
The more I hear about the NRA the more sickened I feel. Their defence of the indefensible is nauseating.
@Ellatynemouth "Unless..." You can create a hypothetical situation for anything. That does not justify an anti-second amendment position. The NRA takes a realistic position that there will be no way to rid the world of guns, and that guns in the hands of only the government leads to absolute tyranny, by isolating the power of the gun in the hands of government (would you want Trump to have all the guns?). Neither the NRA nor any other gun owner wants to see the school shootings or other public shootings. They simply see a different solution. They are not vile.
I like your thinking!
@Keith_J no . the constant mass shootings sure do though. Gun control works. Its been demonstrated over and over but some people feel their "rights" to shoot people trump others right to live.
Gun laws have an effect. What you are in effect saying is you don't care about other people.
I went to school just up the road from the first school in the U.K..Dunblane. Guns were banned, there has Never been another School shooting since.
@Ellatynemouth, you are only 100% wrong. I care about people enough that I want to see to it that they have the means to be able to protect themselves. I do not want to turn them into defenseless victims. We have somewhere between 300-600 million guns in the US. You're not going to get rid of them. Since about 94% of all of our shootings take place in "gun free zones" the banning of guns there has had almost no effect.
@Blindbird, if gun control worked then Chicago, DC, California, and other gun-control meccas in the US would have measurably lower gun violence rates. They do not.
