I love religious texts as the fables myths that people actually believe in, it's crazy. Cosplay for adults...

Try things like Hero with a thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell if you have not read that.
It is an excellent study comparing various mythologies and religions.

I lean toward thinking that a book can’t hurt you. You can hurt yourself though by what you think about ideas in the book.
