I can't imagine why so many of you left Catholicism with it's long history of fine traditions including eager Popes-to-be poisoning the current Pope so they could take his place. God works in mysterious ways they say.

But have you heard of the Cadaver Synod?
From Wiki: Probably around January 897, Pope Stephen VI ordered that the corpse of his predecessor Pope Formosus be removed from its tomb and brought to the papal court for judgment. With the corpse propped up on a throne, a deacon was appointed to answer for the deceased pontiff. Maybe a holy spirit medium?
The cute but dead Formosus (pictured below) was accused of transmigrating sees in violation of canon law, of perjury, and of serving as a bishop while actually a layman. To add to his crimes the Pope corpse mocked the court by remaining silent during the proceedings! Eventually, the corpse was found guilty, but made no last minute pleas for mercy. After having the corpse stripped of its papal vestments, Pope Stephen then cut off the three fingers of the right hand that were used in life for blessings, formally invalidating all of Formosus' acts and ordinations. The body was finally interred in a graveyard for foreigners, only to be dug up once AGAIN, tied to weights, and cast into the Tiber River.
That'll teach him! Bet he'll never do that again!

So is the reasoning of the mighty Catholic Church, which ranks itself higher in authority and judgment than GOD himself at times. I suspect Jesus is putting off his return mainly because He is afraid of the fearsome unpredictable Catholic Church.
