Honestly folks, do we need a classification/tag. I mean "Atheist" or any other specific word to put me, you in a category? I don't think so. What say you?
I have noticed that there seem to be a lot of people here who care strongly about the label. For me, I'll just go with 'non-believer'.
Are you kidding?
Many on this website even seem to feel strongly about the distinction between atheist and agnostic-and people from both sides frequently mock people who say they are "spiritual."
I now block people the moment they start to mock.
Agreed I'm always a mix of all the above. I never fits squarely in any category.
I don't think we do as far as labels go. Like Sam Harris says, "I didn't just wake up one day as a non-astrologer." But at the same time, all atheist means is that I am a non-theist. So while I agree that we don't need a label, I also say that when defining a stance on theism in particular that I would have to say I'm an atheist.
