Will planet earth end by nuclear war or pollution?
The planet will be here until our star dies. How will our ecology die? Too many ways for man to destroy himself and the ecology to list here. One to add to the growing list: the plastic patches in our oceans, the plastics are being fed on and finds its way to the cellular structure, which we eat... If we die, we die. A failed experiment in evolution.
How about it will find the way to thrive forever?
In the immortal words of Ozzy Osborne, "forever is a long long time".
@OldDave it sure is, no doubt. I keep getting this negativity vibe from all over the place and I think it's about time we start changing that trend towards positive thoughts. You just did that my friend. If Ozzy doesn't cheers us up then likely nothing will !! Thanks !!!
We might end ourselves, but not the planet. I think climate change caused by pollution probably wouldn't kill all of us, but it certainly would thin out the herd by a bunch. I think someone will nuke someone else, but l don't see a full scale war between the more powerful nations. IMO
Humans will eventually exit the scene but the Earth will do just fine until some cosmic event destroys it. But it's interesting to ponder what the Earth would be like if humans never arrived on the scene, or what the universe would be like if there was no sentient life to observe it.
Sol should turn into a red giant in about 5 billion years, that should pretty much do the job of ending Earth as a planet although it's mass will be absorbed into the red giant so it will carry on in a different form.
The world won't end. It's humanity that is in danger. Pollution will come into effect on a dangerous level in 100 years. I am more concerned with nuclear winter. The way the president is handling things...
You're kind of limiting me here, Greenheart. I've always thought the world would end by a collective implosion of the supernatural underwear worn by devout Mormons. I really fear this.
