Do you always wear deodorant or only when going out in public? This question came up at the gym today.

If I’m wearing a dress I put some on my inner thighs as well. Only way I’ve found to keep these thick thighs from chafing. TMI?

Thought you wanted to smell nice down there ! Lol

Maybe TMI. Interesting, none the less.

@phil21 thought perhaps other thick thighed ladies might find the tip helpful

@Marcie1974 Quit trying to seduce me!

@phil21 bwahahah

Does that work? Will any product do, or does it need to be the cakey white kind? (my thighs barely touch, but I walk a ton and it's near tropical hot and humid at this location).

@Zster I’ve only tried the white kind. Not sure if it’ll work for you, I found if it’s hot and I get sweaty it just rubs off eventually. Worth a try though!

NEVER

It's okay, I'm not here for dating so unwrinkle those noses.

I stay home alone a lot, so I don't bother putting on antiperspirant unless or until I am ready to head out the door where I might see people. Rinse the pits and roll it on!

Years ago, I learned (possibly mistakenly, I haven't checked recently) that a body can build up a tolerance to the ingredients of antiperspirant so it's good to give your body a break from it periodically. Not sure if it's true.

I do use deodorant soap daily though and drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits/vegetables, avoid fatty spicy foods and use "Body Mynts for Ladies" trying to get my sweat to smell pleasant, just in case I'm caught out without my antiperspirant.

Sometimes the bad smell is a person's clothes, if they re-wear their sweaty clothes from yesterday instead of fresh gym-wear. That's my experience.

My BO smells like pot so I have to wear it or people ask me questions lol

Salt crystal, always. No smell.

All the sweat, tho.

Never even needed it before menopause.

And for some, it seems the opposite!

I always wear it so that I don't have to smell me. (:

That was what I thought.
There is a theory that humans smell so badly as a defense mechanism.

@Beowulfsfriend I could see that working...

I opted for only when going out into public. But would say I wear it 80% of the time. Sticky pits are uncomfortable despite lack of scent. If I'm working at home and have no plan to be around people, I won't worry about it.

2

depends... But I'm lucking and don't smell that bad for a few days. Thank the Gods for Native genes.

I live in not so sunny Florida. It’s hot and humid. I always wear it even though it doesn’t seem to work well. I don’t like to smell

2

Yup. As soon as I get out the shower.

2

never, I wash every day and don't like the thoguht of alcohol on my armpits and not being able to perspire which seems like a reasonable body function. I can always rewash.

2

Always.

2

I always wear it.

No vote, I don't know about promulgation of things picked up at the gym. What happens at the gym, stays in the gym.

That's probably a wise gym policy 🙂

Anything that requires planned, routine, rote actions is always random. I think probably a little more than half the days, I do.

I have never used deodorant or aftershave.Stopped using soap years ago, except for hand-washing and rare wet-shaves.Stopped using shampoo or anything else on my hair years ago too. I just shower in warm water and my hair isn't lank and I don't smell. Luckily I don't sweat much.

I am at home A LOT being a disabled Vet, so I don't use deodorant normally, I do use hand sanitizer to kill off any bacteria if needed or if I get turned on and start pumping pheromones I use deodorant, which has turned into any time I will be close to other people.
However, I only drink green teas and water, occasional milk or orange juice, and I eat a pretty healthy diet, lots of greens from my garden. So 97% of the time I don't produce odor. I have very candid friends who would definitely call me out.

Our bodies are made to produce oils, micro-bacteria, and pheromones that keep us at a natural balanced pleasing state. We also shed. A lot. So a lot of Dry Scrubs, and plain water showers. Anti-bacterial soap kills both the good and the bad. If we get I to a sweat, from working hard or exercise, other peoples bacteria get on us and attack the sugars and salts in our sweat and our dead skin, and they fart, a lot, and make us stink.
If you have a healthy lifestyle, no drugs, smoking or vape, no caffeine, your body is meant to smell for the hunt and kill. Now we get worked up and just stink, so the bad bacteria that is put of balance just needs cleaned. If you shower right away, you're good. If you wait, they will eat more of you, and you will smell worse - sanitize the areas, then wet cloth wash off once you are calmed down.

Good points.

Maybe a little too much thought.

Only when I go out !

Antiperspirant, but yes always.
