This winter solstice has been my favorite by far. Out with the old, in with the new. We are headed back to the brightness of longer days.

This is basically my “new year.” I welcome the shift and the creativity it brings.

I have never been to a winter solstice celebration... must put it onto my to do this... any one got any good stories to tell?

Usually I do to a celebration (don’t know that they even had it this year) where we do a potluck and then there is a bonfire. We burn things we want to bid “good riddence” to. It’s usally a big group of friends who have a more than average weirdness in common. Last year, there was a dance party too. It really was fun.

This year was much quieter. I only lit a single candle. But I said my good riddance’s and made a few vows for the new year.

It was quite nice.

Being a creature of the night i must say that I find some joy in it, especially those clear night skies filled with stars and the dancing lights.
