Well myth mas will be celebrated on December 25th and yet no other religious holidays are nationally celebrated. Why isn't the U.S.a Christian theocracy?
The real reason dates back to the 1840s when the celebration of Christmas was becoming a popular holiday. The government felt that the majority of worker were Christians and would take Christmas as a day off, thus shutting down any government, factory or business. The "holiday" of Christmas became federal law in 1870 to forego the shutting down of government and businesses and losing money. This is about the same time when buying presents for the children was becoming popular and shopping started to become attached with Christmas.
Divisionof church and state in the constitution though tRUMP and Pence would love that.
