The rampant use of logical fallacies in today’s discourse (political) is to me quite astonishing
Took me a moment to get what you meant. I at first thought you meant that they use logical fallacy arguments to debunk each other, which didnt' really make sense, because nobody does that in today's media.
Than it occurred to me that they are using arguments that ARE logical fallacies. Then it suddenly made sense. I am in total agreement with that.
I myself never was taught about logical fallacies in high school or college. I instead was exposed to them through a short story compilation from a 1950's comic novelist. The book was "The many Loves of Doby Gillis" by Max Shulman, and the story was titled "Love Is A Fallacy".
