For anyone who wonders why there needs to be a resistance, take a look at this. We are moving toward a society where anyone - at any time - could be required to 'show their papers'. Yes, I know all the arguments over non-citizens. I also recognize scapegoating when I see it. We cannot allow this kind of oversight to become acceptable. Our basic freedoms are at risk, especially if you are a person of colour.

Know your rights. Learn when and under what circumstances you can refuse a request. Be prepared (and willing) to be under arrest for exercising your rights. IT IS WORTH a few hours of inconvenience to STAND UP.
