Evidence from the last 86 years would seem to support no. Every U.S. administration since 1932 has either started new socialist programs, continued old ones, or both. (This may change in the current one, which seems bent on purging our system of all public funding for any purpose.) IMO, anyone who thinks socialism can't coexist with democracy and capitalism is simply ignorant of history.

We simply need to expand democratic socialism more!

stupid poll is one sided only. Why are americans indoctrinated into thinking socialism is bad? Enjoy your polarised capitalism

The way the term 'socialism' is used is unclear. If one means the economic model of the Soviet Union, it is very bad. But if one is referring to the models or Sweden or the policies of Sanders, it has clear benefits.

Russia is no longer socialist. It is run by oliarchs. Much the same as your country is controlled by rich captialists

This is some alt-right bullshit right here.

No.... socialism helps the poor.
Your poll is rigged worse than a conservative victory.

I think there are many more choices and opinions than what is offered here.

Generally, socialism as practiced in northern European countries, has on average given citizens a higher standard of living than we currently have in the U.S., and psychologist say the people test as being much happier over all than pers9ons living in the U.S.

That beign said, it was accomplished with careful long term planning. You cant' get such results without constant planning and vigilance over decades.
