I need a 'both' or 'other' option b/c it all depends on how I'm feeling - if I need grounding and stability, definitely mountains. But when I'm craving freedom and creativity, definitely beach.

I'm not a beach person. While I find the sight of the ocean or lake appealing, I burn even with the most drastic sunblock. I can last about ten minutes in the sun before I start to fry like bacon. At least on a mountain I can usually cover up.

I love both! The sound and scale of of the ocean always awes me. If I knew the mountain in your poll had a river, mountain would have gotten my vote because of the clean, fresh air and lack of crowds.

They're both great, but I prefer tropical beaches, of course..hence my living in southern Thailand, near the beach.
