My very good friend is an accountant and he maintains that any tax reduction one may receive will be offset by just the different deductions he is trying yo eliminate. He has his eye on eliminating the personnal deduction.
Not so far. I won't see any difference until I do my tax return in January.

Because of the tax break my tax refund was decreased by more than $4500 due to the elimination of the tax deduction for my annual $26000 in medical expenses. So no it did not help me . Now he wants to eliminate the personal exemption which will hit the lower class and middle class very hard . All this to pay for his tax cut to the wealthy.
