I am very interested in science and tech, as well as how the evolution of scientific knowledge and innovations affects religious constructs. I am also very into
sci-fi as well.
Now Judeo-christian religions are predicated by the idea that our planet, and more specifically, human beings are at the top of the universe's food chain and that we are the only game in town. That viewpoint is incredibly arrogant, and statistically unlikely. So what happens to religions that say that we are made in the image of God and the buck stops here on Earth, what happens when we come in contact with alien life form in the universe (If we haven't already and they have just assimilated to human society and we are just not cognizant of them living among us) as we explore and travel in space? Can religion co-exist in tandem with the evolution of scientific discovery and knowledge? Does contact with alien lifeforms mean that human religions will become obsolete, and what would that mean for us as a species and what would happen to human civilization?
