Usa today is not exactly a liberal magazine, never has been. if even this notably conservative rag can notice and report this, it must be pretty obvious! so how come there is so much denial?

Republicans have been a minority party for as long as I can remember. They can only win elections by gerrymandering, suppressing the vote, and using the undemocratic Senate and Electoral College. Now they’ve taken over most of the courts, so it’s not looking good for the future. I don’t know why people aren’t more pissed off after getting another republican president who lost the popular vote.
i think more people are pissed off than we know. trump's base is small -- but vocal, and insane.

See my post this morning about fascism. We don't want to believe it can happen in 'Murica.
i've been saying it for a few years now. i lost a friend who said he couldn't associate with me anymore because i was trivializing the holocaust by comparing the rise of trump to the rise of hitler. i was right, and i was right early on, but i have not heard from him.

@genessa The reality is that it looked just like this to prewar Germans too -- it can't happen in our country, or can't be that bad.
As German pastor Martin Niemoller famously wrote afterwards: "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out -- because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, but I did not speak out -- because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, but I did not speak out -- because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me".
Shocking abuse of power but not exactly surprising, sadly.
maybe surprising to some. not us. we pay attention. but we have to keep saying it so those who don't know can learn.

Not tht shocking to me. I believe there is no act so evil, vile, heinous, or reprehensible that some people will not be willing to do it in the pursuit of money, power or both.
@snytiger6 Sad but true I’m afraid,
