FTA: Beck, an associate professor at Monash University, believes the changes are legally enforceable because chaplaincy providers are contractually obliged to comply with the position description, meaning there could be further litigation if chaplaincy providers refuse to hire atheists.

Free dictionary definition of "chaplain" :[thefreedictionary.com]
Seems to allow it in defintion 2. I would think that most would prefer "counselor" though.

@Lilburne Particularly the titles of Prime Minister, Premier and President?
In what capacity did you work with psychologists? I had a friend who worked a lot with psychiatrists - he was a sales rep for one of the pharmaceutical companies - he said that it was "like selling candy to a baby with a bad sugar addiction".

A good idea BUT the Atheists SHOULD require to NOT be classified as being Chaplains, etc, it IS, imho, derogatory and insulting to say the very least.

Huh, some people will do anything to help their fellow man.......

@zblaze I do whatever I can, as much as I can and as often as I can to help my fellow Human Beings.
I need no title, no accolades, no appreciations nor any religious jargon simply because IT IS the Right and Decent HUMAN thing to do.

A dying Victorian student says "please chaplain, give me the last rites" to which the atheist chaplain responds by singing "Goodbye my friend it’s hard to die When all the birds are singing in the sky." I'd say that's a great way to go!
