The Repubs have been after the Post Office for a long time. If the mail system works then people can use it for voting and writing to their representatives, all representatives, even those who are not yours. Also as they are now they are not owned by a person who will donate to political parties, like to the repubs. The same is true for the Bonneville Power Co. here in the NorthWest. They want to privitize public services and turn a profit from them. Make it so we can pay ther bill and pay them a profit which is much better than just paying for the service without the profit.

The Post Office owns valuable real estate in the center of every city and town in the USA. The right wing moguls want to get control of these valuable assets cheaply.
