Is religion evolutionary. The survivers feel blessed so they think god is looking after them.Never hear from the dead who no doubt are pissed with god
Imagine a ship sinks.500 people drown. The sole surviver feels blessed
She believes God saved her.She is the only one who lives to have children. The ones that died, regardless of their previous beliefs are changed at the last moment to cursing god as they realise nobody is going to save them
Anyway they die and the survivers give thanks to the god that loves them...Over millions of years this produces a human race which fears god.
I'd say no in this context just based on the idea that most people who died were probably religious too. No matter who lived and died the result would be the same which doesn't feel very evolutionary to me. Confirmation bias sure, but not evolution
