What I like about the Bible is that you get to hold in your hand the thoughts and aspirations of a people from 2,500 years ago. If you read one printed a few centuries ago, you get the flavour of how those people felt about this very special book.

Well, one religion with a zillion flavors, each of which detests the other flavors. That's in the book, too.

What people will do for religious reasons...a Bible no less! While 100s of are children separated by border patrol, from their parents...are lost!

When people start worrying about what 400 year old books we should and should not protect/recover that are in our libraries, that's the slope to censorship, burning books, and more.
I don't care if it was a 400 year old nursery rhyme book, the Quran, or satanic verse. It is an artifact that was in our library.

The FBI wasn't just chasing 1 Bible, but 300 rare books and other artifacts valued at around $8 million. All were embezzled by a former library employee in cahoots with a rare book dealer. That makes the investigation justifiable, I would say. They recovered 17 other books and nearly 300 other artifacts so far. I'm sure they regarded the Geneva Bible as just another rare and valuable book. I doubt they care that it happens to be a Bible.

I'm sorry but I have no problems with securing books and other cultural items for history. Hold onto your history for as long as you can and cherish it. Learn from it, get beyond it. Those books are not man's problem.

Keep in mind that they were not just looking for this bible but for many other artifacts. I hope other items are found.

It’s an old book and very valuable. The FBI is correct to track down the 300+ artifacts that were stolen.
