The US is heading steadily for the inevitable showdown. Who will blink first, or will it be (machine gun) pistols at dawn? The NRA would love that - think of the sales!!!

SCOTUS will have to make decision to maintain the oversight function of Congress, or not. If they choose not, there is a strong likelihood that the courts will also lose control of Trump. If that happens... it will get ugly. There will then exist a possibility of a real coup. The chances are small. They are also small that the coup will re-establish the validity of separate but equal branches of government.
